My name is Alexis and I am a skateboarder and my hobby is woodworking. I was born and raised in Queens and made skate boxes and ramps as a teenager. I eventually started making furniture for myself in my mid-20s and now I make things out of skateboards!

About Skate Then Create
During the pandemic, I started using skateboards as building material and I created a small business making things out of skateboards. I work with local skaters and skate shops to collect their broken and discarded skateboards so I can repurpose them and give them a second life outside the skate parks.

Why Skateboards?
I started using skateboards as they were essentially free material. I learned that they can't be recycled due to their different materials. So instead of letting them end up in landfills, I decided to collect them and show the world how beautiful skateboards are and what skateboards can be!
